Reflections Section
I am thankful to the University of Houston and Professor Ed Crowley for offering this class. What I have learned through this course will allow me to be a part of future of the technology. It is important to say that this course has given me a detailed insight into the future trajectory of the technology and what it holds and how I should prepare for myself.
I learned in detail about Cloud Computing, Virtualization, and implications of Michael Porter's Five Force and Value chain principles on the third wave product. What I learned in this course is priceless, because this course is the vital knowledge bridge between the past and the future. Cloud Computing along with Virtualization and mobility concept will be the platform for further evolution of technology from its present state to the future concepts like Artificial Intelligence or Human robots. This class has made a great difference in the way I view application of technology by business and home product developers.
Professor Ed Crowley is a great instructor and communicator, his positive outlook and motivation to students is commendable. Professor Crowley's method in teaching this class is rooted in his experience in the real world. He brings to this class a wealth of real world experience and hence he has designed this class around theoretical and practical experience. His technique of using Video tutorials and CloudU certifications worked the best for me. I wish we had more time for this class, because it would have given us an opportunity to go into a discussion about cloud computing video with Professor Ed Crowley and I would have had some time to a hands-on project on cloud computing by experimenting on a mock concept under the watchful eyes of Professor Ed Crowley.
I feel that this course will give me a valuable leverage for professional and academic growth. I have always imagined myself to be a part of future technology based on my thought process and my personality. Cloud Computing is a very important part of the new business decision making process because it frees up the resources from IT department. Secondly this technology will allow people to work/contribute to their professional career from any part of the globe and will not be restricted to a 9 am to 6 pm confinement. Finally Cloud Computing technology allows to create a larger canvas to paint on and many artists from all corners of the globe can team together to create a portrait which will contribute in the better living conditions for all living organisms. I want to be a part of the "Internet of things" process and this course will enable me to do that. Personally, technology has played a very pivotal part in my life and hence I want to be able to contribute back to the field of Cloud technology where I will be able to reach places where I can create a larger impact.
I thank Professor Ed Crowley for being a great professor and Mentor and wish all my class mates success in their future endeavor. I will continue to peruse various avenues for further certification in the field of Cloud Computing.
