Module One
Module 1 was my introduction to the concept of cloud computing. We got acclaimed to the concept of cloud computing by reading the first five chapters of the textbook (CompTIA Cloud + Certification Study Guide). We covered topics like disk storage systems, network infrastructure, storage networking and virtualization components. In addition to textbook readings and assignments, we also worked through Eli the computer Guy video for the understanding of the concept of cloud computing, concepts, models and terminology along with a brief understanding of NAS AND SAN, RAID, AND SSDs and Rackspace.com for the understanding of the concept of Introduction of web hosting along with web concepts like DNS, load balancing and Dedicated vs cloud and load balancing. Furthermore, we examined NIST articles which explained and defined cloud computing and five essential attributes of Cloud Computing.
For My learning artifact, I chose my assignment on Introduction to Cloud Computing based on the video by Eli the Computer Guy. I picked this assignment because this assignment helped me understand in depth what cloud computing is all about. The video covers a broad spectrum of topics on cloud computing beginning from its definition, a brief history of evolution of cloud computing from legacy main frame computers, virtual computing and cloud computing and also the concept of clustering. The video gave me a very detailed and indepth understanding of the concept of Cloud Computing. This understanding is going to be very helpful to me during my professional career.
