Planning a Move to the Cloud

Cloud computing is about Sharing and Storing Data. Cloud computing, in turn, refers to sharing resources, software, and information via a network, in this case the Internet. The information is stored on physical servers maintained and controlled by a cloud computing provider. Like every technology there are growing pains and it comes with its own drawbacks. The process of cloud computing involves multiple steps as detailed and explained below.

Above is the image pertaining to the best to practice and study about the "planning a move to the cloud". That above image represents my knowledge about planning a move to the cloud.

Summary:

Cloud Computing is a paradigm shift that sees the dawn of a new age of computing driven by distinct benefits. Given the undeniable value to be gained from a move to Cloud Computing, it is hardly surprising that many organizations are contemplating a shift "to the Clouds." Experience has shown however that organizations are concerned around the logistics of the move and worried about unintended consequences and problems arising out of the move

In this paper, we describe three broad areas that organizations need to think about when moving to the Cloud:

  • External business considerations related to dealing with third-party Cloud providers.
  • Internal business considerations related to potential non-technology impacts upon the business caused by the move to the Cloud.
  • Within these three areas we highlight specific topics that organizations should understand prior to a move to the Cloud
