Module Four

Module four was mainly about mobility, introduction to mobile technologies along with emphasis on a third wave of product. Textbook reading from Comp TIA Mobility + Certification All-in One Exam Guide covered five chapters related to the topics of, radio frequency principles; cellular technologies, Wi-Fi client technologies, mobility security risks; and mobile security technologies. From Rackspace.com CloudU, we watched video tutorials on Big Data. Big Data is a term used to describe a collection of data sets so large and complex that it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools or traditional data processing applications. The three modules on big data taught me How to "talk the talk" on this topic. We also completed two assignments on identifying a third wave product based on Internet of things considering the SWOT analysis and second assignment on the impact of technology on an industry based on competitive analysis of third wave product. I did an SWOT analysis (that is strength, weakness, opportunity and threat) posed by Belkn's WeMo home automation third wave product on the replacement of existing products in the market, secondly, I used Michael Porter's Five Forces model to analyze the disruption in the financial industry based on the introduction of Third wave products.

For my learning artifact, I chose my assignment related to the project on SWOT analysis. In this assignment, I performed a research on Belkin's WeMo home automation system, which is a third wave product, which falls under the criteria of the Internet of Things products. I applied the SWOT principles to my research product to conclude that Belkin's WeMo will an ideal competition to the existing products and will be a truly amazing third wave product.
